30 Days: Day 23

November 23, 2011

Today I am thankful for the day off tomorrow. I am glad that I am not having to worry about going in to work on a holiday. Lots of people don't have that luxury. P.S. You won't see this girl in any store that is open on Thanksgiving....everyone deserves time to rest with their family. And for those of you who are going to be sitting for HOURS in order to get great deals, bless your hearts. I hope you get what you are looking for. I just like to go and watch people on Black Friday. They are crazy!!! You won't find any Christmas spirit or holiday cheer in Wal-Mart come 8:00 tomorrow night that is for sure. Those people are out for blood...haha
Happy Turkey Day!!

30 Days: Day 22

November 22, 2011

Today I am thankful for Pinterest. For those who are not on Pinterest, it is a website where you can "pin" your Internet findings on to specific boards so you can reference them later. I have been doing this manually for years. My college roommates called them my "files." I would tear pictures out of magazines, print out pictures and ideas from the Internet, and tear out and make copies of millions of recipes that I wanted to try. Then about once a month I would organize my files and separate my findings in to specific categories. Food, wedding, baby, fashion, etc. But now Pinterest allows me to do all this online and more. Now I have exclusive access to every one's files. I am mildly obsessed. I am constantly yelling for Randy to come and look at what I have found...He has repeatedly told me I am losing his pinterest....haha...So here are a few of the projects I have tried...I am pretty pleased with how they turned out...Please follow me so I check out all your ideas too.

I have sooo many more that I want to try...if only this was my job...sigh...

30 Days: Day 21

November 21, 2011

Today I am thankful for a holiday week. Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday. I love the weather, the decor, the food, the food, and the food, and I love love love the parade. I am so excited to see my family and spend time with them and then finally get to put up our Christmas tree and other decorations. I love this time of year. Here is a sweet picture of June Ann from Thanksgiving last year....man she is getting so big....

30 Days: Day 19-20

November 19, 2011

Today I am thankful for a quick calm Saturday at work with my girls. We have been so busy and stressed at work lately, so to have a slower Saturday was a nice end to a crazy week. Then Randy and I took the girls Christmas shopping and out to eat. It was an awesome Saturday.

November 20, 2011

Today I am thankful for my husband. He not only does an unspeakable amount for me and our girls but he will drop anything to help my family. I don't think he realizes how much it means to me that he used his only days off this week to paint my mom's bedroom. We never had a strong male figure living in our home, so my mom and grandma did all of the "Dad" things around the house. Now that they are getting older...(not old Mom...just older...) it has become harder for them to do all the handy work things around the house. It has also been hard for them to hand over that kind of stuff. But Randy never hesitates to help...he paints, pulls up carpet, mows the yard, cleans the gutters...the list goes on and on. I told him tonight that he will never know how much it means to me that he not only takes care of his family but he continually takes care of mine. Man, I love this guy more everyday!
I will leave you today with a few pics of my little turkeys before church this morning...Love these little gobblers!

(you can tell June Ann was not to happy about the photo shoot....)

oh and here is a picture of my AMAZING husband I am so thankful for today  (and everyday)

this was on his 30th birthday...I like older men ;)

30 Days: Day 18

November 18, 2011

Today I am thankful for the sweet innocence of Christmas magic. I love that for the past couple of nights June Ann has sat and studied the toy catalogs. She looks and points and yells about what she wants Santa to bring. It is so cute to see her recognize toys and movies from commercials. I can't wait until Christmas morning!

(ps those are not pills on the table behind her, they are Sweetarts...haha)

30 Days: Day 17

November 17, 2011

Today I am thankful for my sweet baby. She turned seven months old today. I can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday that I looked like this

(woah)

and then WE looked like this

and now she looks like this

She is such a little blessing and I am so thankful for her.
Happy 7 month birthday sweet Carlie!!

30 Days: Day 16

November 16, 2011

Today I am thankful for the skill of sewing. And more than that the grandmother who made sure I knew how. Tonight I sat down at my machine to create a "turkey" onsie (more on that later when I get my pics uploaded), the smell of the sewing machine reminded me of her. I can remember sitting with my Mamma at her old Singer and trying to figure out how exactly she could make pretty much anything. She could make Barbie clothes, baby dolls, bathing suits, Halloween costumes, and everything in between. I was in awe (I still am). She taught me how to read a pattern Bible, how to ease up on my lead foot (or knee depending on which accelerator I was using), and how wind a bobbin. As I worked on my project tonight,  I thought about how alot of women my age don't even know how to sew on a button. It is definitely a lost art. I am so thankful that she took the time to show me how to sew and I am very thankful for all the extra time I spent with her learning. I promised myself tonight that my girls will all know how to sew...at least enough to hem a pair of pants...haha...

30 Days: Day 15

November 15, 2011

Today I thankful for being able to lay around with my husband and watch TV. Tonight Randy and I watched several shows tonight but I LOVE "New Girl" with Zooey Deschanel. I laughed and laughed and laughed. I think it is so well written and each character is so well defined and quirky. I will be more than happy to share my feelings on any show but I promise if you look up this show and watch, you will not be disappointed.

Please take time to watch this...and have a HAPPY HANKSGIVING!!! hahaha

30 Days: Days 10-14

November 10, 2011

Today I am thankful for sisters that turn into fun aunts. We had a GREAT time going to visit Aunt Rachael! She lives 3 hours away but it was worth the drive. We laughed, talked, shopped, ate, and got crafty. Good times. We love Aunt Sarah and Aunt Melody too...very blessed to have these ladies closer to home.

November 11, 2011

Today I am very thankful for a reliable car....check out the new mileage on this beauty...getting my moneys worth!
(insert a picture of Randy's truck rolling over to 200,000 miles)

I am also very thankful for our veterans! Sacrificing their time, families and lives so that I didn't have to. I am especially thankful to my grandfathers, uncles, and friends who have served in the different branches of the armed services. Your service is very much appreciated.

November 12, 2011

Today I am thankful for my awesome husband! I came home from Rachael's house to a clean house and a homemade lasagna ready to go into the oven. I am very lucky to be married to a great provider, daddy to our girls and pretty incredible cook. Love you Randy!Pinned Image(source)

November 13, 2011

Today I am thankful for the super sweet guy that works with Randy who fixed our computer for FREE...(that's one of the main reasons I haven't posted in a few days)...We tried to pay him but he refused so we are gonna buy him lunch one day this week.... YAY the computer is back and faster than ever!

(ps the issues I have been having with my computer have nothing to do now with it getting fixed. It is now an issue of the operator (me) not being able to post pics for some reason....I will figure it out)

November 14, 2011

Today I am thankful for my sight and my mom's sight. It is something I know I take for granted. Being able to see the fall colors, my babies sweet faces, and Christmas trees...(haha Rachael) My mom has been having some issues with her eyesight lately (but by the grace of God it is looking like her sight will recover) and I been really trying to appreciate things like my senses.  You don't realize how blessed you really are until you have something so basic taken away. So this week I am going to really try to soak in every little thing I can see.

technical difficulties...

We interrupt this post of 30 Thankful Days due to technical difficulties...we hope to iron out the kinks and pick back up tomorrow...and by iron out the kinks I mean stomp, kick, cuss, and throw my computer and phone out the door...

There is a strong possibility that this is an operator error.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

30 Days: Day 9

November 9, 2011

Today I am thankful for children with a strong will. I hope that her stubborn personality takes her to the top of whatever success ladder she decides to climb. I hope that she never lets anyone treat her badly or shy away because of a lack of self confidence. I hope that her hard headed nature helps her to stand up for what she believes no matter what opposition she faces. I hope that she continues to stand her ground and not take anything lying down. But for tonight I wish she would just take her medicine.

p.s. we sat like this for 20 mins tonight...uggghhhh

30 Days: Day 8

November 8, 2011

Today I am thankful for my baby's milestones. Today is the day we are going to say she is officially sitting up! She has been practicing but today she sat up unsupported for a while. It makes me very happy and a little sad. She is a happy healthy six month old that sleeps through the night, loves all of her baby foods, has 2 bottom teeth and two top ones almost here, AND now she is sitting up alone!!! It is going by too fast. Maybe I will have to convince Randy we need more babies.....eventually.

So big!

30 Days: Day 7

November 7, 2011

Today I am thankful for good health. As I sat in the doctor's office today (check up only) I looked around at  some others that were battling serious conditions and I said a quick prayer of thanks for my health and my children's health. Although they have been having minor illnesses (i.e. I had to pick June Ann up today with a low grade fever), we have never had to battle any serious sickness. I am also thankful doctors who have the knowledge to make us feel better...however
I AM NOT THANKFUL FOR MY HEALTH INSURANCE.
Maybe others have good insurance but not mine....just saying...it blows....Happy Monday!

Homemade pudding makes everything better... :)

30 Days: Day 6

November 6, 2011

Today I am thankful for clean laundry....actually I HATE it....I don't mind to wash it and dry it but I really really really hate to fold it and put it away. BUT I am very thankful that I have a washer and dryer that work and I don't have to take my laundry to the laundry mat and I am very thankful that we are fortunate enough to live in a country where we actually have the privilege of clean laundry period. Maybe if I spruce up my laundry room it will make me want to work in there a little more...So as I go back to folding laundry, I will leave you with some of the ideas I am currently in love with to upgrade my laundry room.

30 Days: Day 5

November 5, 2011

Today I am thankful for something really nerdy...my blog friends. I call them my friends but they don't know me. I read about, cry/laugh with, think about and pray for these women and their families. Some of them inspire me to be more organized, some to be more creative, some inspire me to be a better mom, a better wife, a better Christan. I love to read about their families, their holiday traditions, and their recipes. I feel like I can kind of live out my fantasy of being a super cool stay at home mom through them. A mom who does cool things with her kids, always looks cute, is really handy with her camera and photoshop, and can remodel their home with ease.  I have learned so much from these ladies that don't even know I exist. I think maybe that's what makes our "friendship" so awesome because I can't screw it up by saying something dumb or forgetting to call. Randy gets kinda frustrated with me because I talk about them like I have known them all my life. I tell him funny stories about their kids and sad things that happen to them. He says I need to get out more. I genuinely look forward to opening up my google reader in the mornings and "visiting" with my girls. Like I said kinda nerdy and depressing but I don't care. I hope one day someone will use my blog to have a fake friend but it will probably help if I worked on it a little more...  I will leave you with links to just a few of my favorites but I have tons more if you are interested in them...Also I would love to meet your "friends" if I haven't already so please feel free to leave me some links to check out.

Do you think that they will be scared if they find out I am stalking them....hope not....

30 Days: Day 4

November 4, 2011

Today I am thankful for sisters.

These sisters...

and these sisters...
(and my mom....we need to work on a pic of just the three of us...I don't have one...weird)

30 Days: Day 3

November 3, 2011

Today I am thankful for patience.
It is something I never seem have enough of but I am very appreciative of the teachers who show lots of it while helping my very outspoken 3 year old learn to dance.

And I am thankful for little things like this that make my day at work...its the small things that make me laugh....I am never disappointed in the creativity of people at the first of the month.

I don't know if you can see that he has his window wrapped in plastic and he cut a small hole out so he could reach his hand through to the drive up tube....genius...I wish I could have gotten a picture of him looking at me though the hole...
Happy Thursday!

30 Days: Day 2

November 2, 2011

Today I am thankful for clean warm towels
bathing beauties

warm comfy beds

and really thankful for a Daddy that helps...

What are you thankful for today?

30 Days: Day 1

November 1, 2011

Today I am thankful for warm homemade chicken noodle soup that my mother in law sent home with us this weekend. It really hit the spot on this cool fall day. And I am also thankful for babies that put themselves to sleep...sweet Carlie
It helps me deal with the fact that my 3 year old won't.

Happy November!!

NABLOPOMO...you heard me...

Apparently November is NAtional BLOg POst MOnth...who knew...well I guess lots of people except me... I have been really wanting to start making myself get in the habit of posting everyday so I accepted this challenge (as seen here)...I will be really trying hard to post everday (maybe even twice today...this one won't count...haha) I was trying to think of something that might help me not be so overwhelmed about posting everyday so I decided that since this is the month of my most favorite holiday, I am going to post everyday about at least one thing I am thankful for. I am really going to try and stay away from the really cliche ones (i.e. family, job, etc...although I am thankful for those...) I really want to focus on counting all my blessings especially the small ones. So if you see me slacking comment or call or FB me and keep me accountible. I AM SO EXCITED!!!

oh and if I think about it I am going to share my posts on Facebook....maybe someone other than Rachael might wanna read it ;)
