30 Days: Day 23

November 23, 2011

Today I am thankful for the day off tomorrow. I am glad that I am not having to worry about going in to work on a holiday. Lots of people don't have that luxury. P.S. You won't see this girl in any store that is open on Thanksgiving....everyone deserves time to rest with their family. And for those of you who are going to be sitting for HOURS in order to get great deals, bless your hearts. I hope you get what you are looking for. I just like to go and watch people on Black Friday. They are crazy!!! You won't find any Christmas spirit or holiday cheer in Wal-Mart come 8:00 tomorrow night that is for sure. Those people are out for blood...haha
Happy Turkey Day!!

30 Days: Day 22

November 22, 2011

Today I am thankful for Pinterest. For those who are not on Pinterest, it is a website where you can "pin" your Internet findings on to specific boards so you can reference them later. I have been doing this manually for years. My college roommates called them my "files." I would tear pictures out of magazines, print out pictures and ideas from the Internet, and tear out and make copies of millions of recipes that I wanted to try. Then about once a month I would organize my files and separate my findings in to specific categories. Food, wedding, baby, fashion, etc. But now Pinterest allows me to do all this online and more. Now I have exclusive access to every one's files. I am mildly obsessed. I am constantly yelling for Randy to come and look at what I have found...He has repeatedly told me I am losing his pinterest....haha...So here are a few of the projects I have tried...I am pretty pleased with how they turned out...Please follow me so I check out all your ideas too.

I have sooo many more that I want to try...if only this was my job...sigh...

30 Days: Day 21

November 21, 2011

Today I am thankful for a holiday week. Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday. I love the weather, the decor, the food, the food, and the food, and I love love love the parade. I am so excited to see my family and spend time with them and then finally get to put up our Christmas tree and other decorations. I love this time of year. Here is a sweet picture of June Ann from Thanksgiving last year....man she is getting so big....

30 Days: Day 19-20

November 19, 2011

Today I am thankful for a quick calm Saturday at work with my girls. We have been so busy and stressed at work lately, so to have a slower Saturday was a nice end to a crazy week. Then Randy and I took the girls Christmas shopping and out to eat. It was an awesome Saturday.

Today I am thankful for my husband. He not only does an unspeakable amount for me and our girls but he will drop anything to help my family. I don't think he realizes how much it means to me that he used his only days off this week to paint my mom's bedroom. We never had a strong male figure living in our home, so my mom and grandma did all of the "Dad" things around the house. Now that they are getting older...(not old Mom...just older...) it has become harder for them to do all the handy work things around the house. It has also been hard for them to hand over that kind of stuff. But Randy never hesitates to help...he paints, pulls up carpet, mows the yard, cleans the gutters...the list goes on and on. I told him tonight that he will never know how much it means to me that he not only takes care of his family but he continually takes care of mine. Man, I love this guy more everyday!
I will leave you today with a few pics of my little turkeys before church this morning...Love these little gobblers!

(you can tell June Ann was not to happy about the photo shoot....)

oh and here is a picture of my AMAZING husband I am so thankful for today  (and everyday)

this was on his 30th birthday...I like older men ;)

30 Days: Day 18

November 18, 2011

Today I am thankful for the sweet innocence of Christmas magic. I love that for the past couple of nights June Ann has sat and studied the toy catalogs. She looks and points and yells about what she wants Santa to bring. It is so cute to see her recognize toys and movies from commercials. I can't wait until Christmas morning!

(ps those are not pills on the table behind her, they are Sweetarts...haha)

30 Days: Day 17

November 17, 2011

Today I am thankful for my sweet baby. She turned seven months old today. I can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday that I looked like this

and now she looks like this

She is such a little blessing and I am so thankful for her.

30 Days: Day 16

November 16, 2011

Today I am thankful for the skill of sewing. And more than that the grandmother who made sure I knew how. Tonight I sat down at my machine to create a "turkey" onsie (more on that later when I get my pics uploaded), the smell of the sewing machine reminded me of her. I can remember sitting with my Mamma at her old Singer and trying to figure out how exactly she could make pretty much anything. She could make Barbie clothes, baby dolls, bathing suits, Halloween costumes, and everything in between. I was in awe (I still am). She taught me how to read a pattern Bible, how to ease up on my lead foot (or knee depending on which accelerator I was using), and how wind a bobbin. As I worked on my project tonight,  I thought about how alot of women my age don't even know how to sew on a button. It is definitely a lost art. I am so thankful that she took the time to show me how to sew and I am very thankful for all the extra time I spent with her learning. I promised myself tonight that my girls will all know how to sew...at least enough to hem a pair of pants...haha...
